The Alamo Heights - Fort Sam Houston (AHFSH) youth soccer league was begun in the late 1970's with a goal of providing children within the Alamo Heights and Fort Sam Houston communities the opportunity to play soccer.  Since its inception, AHFSH has always welcomed players who are interested in developing their skills, as well as an appreciation for and understanding of the game of soccer.

AHFSH welcomes players from Under-5 through Under-18 who are interested in developing age-appropriate individual and team skills, positive attitudes and good sportsmanship.  The league fields "recreational", Academy league and "competitive" teams, but our goal is to provide a league where children have fun, regardless of the level of play in which they may choose to participate.

Spring 2009 Registration

Online registration for the Spring 2009 season will be available beginning in mid-December, 2008.  We anticipate that games for most teams will begin in early March.  Fire and Fire Jr. teams will likely begin training at the training fields in late January.

For addititional questions regarding recreational soccer, please contact the appropriate Age Group Commissioner under the "Board" link.  For additional questions regarding competitive teams ("Fire"), please contact our Director of Training, Steve Jennings, or our Fire Commissioner, Chris Ebner; contact information for Steve and Chris is available on the Board link.  For additional questions regarding the Developmental League, please contact our Director of Training or our Developmental League Commissioner, Joel Guerra; contact information for Steve and Joel is available on the Board link.

AHHS 3v3 Fundraiser

Alamo Heights High School is having a fundraiser for its soccer teams on December 6th and 7th.  An informational and registration flyer is below.  Additional information regarding the tournament may be obtained from AHHS Girls Varsity Head Coach, Chris Sharp, at csharp@ahisd.net.

AHFSH Goals

Our emphasis is to focus on developing individual soccer skills, positive attitudes towards soccer and athletics in general, and good sportsmanship.  Our goal is to provide a league where children have fun.  We seek to develop and encourage boys and girls who have competitive talents without sacrificing our primary purpose of teaching a love for the game of soccer in a way that is fun for players.

TOPSoccer

TOPSoccer is a training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, ages 5 to 18, who has a mental or physical disability. Our first season of TOPSoccer was a HUGE success.  The program is set to begin again in the fall, 2008 season.  We want to thank our TopSoccer sponsor: Cavender Auto Family.

We need volunteers and "buddies" to make this program a success in San Antonio.  Click here to learn more about this program.
