Steve Jennings

Steve Jennings

Coaching Experience:

Since coming to the United States from Liverpool, Steve has been actively involved with coaching and developing not only many of South Texas' players, but also many of the coaches who are currently training players in our state. 

He served as the Director of Coaching for the South Texas Youth Soccer League (which oversees youth soccer for all US Youth Soccer-affiliated leagues in the southern part of the state), has coached both girls and boys' teams in Texas' Olympic Development Program, where most of our US National Team players begin their careers, and has coached teams that have won State Championships at every level. 

Region 3 Staff Member. Currently serving as a Senior Clinician for the South Texas Youth Soccer Association and an ODP Scout.

Playing Experience:

Played at Kirby Town Semi Pro Club, San Antonio International Semi Pro and currently with Legends of the SASA League. Played on Division One and over 30s State Champions, 10 time winners.

Lee Williams

BSc (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Sciences Assoc. Coaching Sciences, UEFA “B”, “C”, Football Leaders, Soccer Rhode Island Y-2, Working with Disabled Footballers, Soccer Specific Speed, Agility & Quickness, FAW Referee Badge, FA Child Protection, FA First Aid and Injury Prevention.

Coaching Experience:

Lee started his coaching career at Swansea City FC (Div 2) from the age of 16, working in local school and progressed into the Centre of Excellence, also coaching for the Football Association of Wales Centre of Excellence for the regional teams, whilst gaining his coaching licenses. He also coached with professional clubs: Birmingham City (EPL), Leister City (Div 1), Kidderminster Harriers (Div 3), Cheltenham Town (Div 2), Worcester City (Conference North), and Llanelli AFC (Welsh Premier League), and coaching companies.

Lee has coached as a Club Trainer (Challenger British Soccer) for 4 years, his 1st Year in Albert Lea, Minnesota where 3 of his teams reached the state tournament (U12 & U15 Girls and U13 Boys) and 2 of them won state (U12 Girls & U13 Boys). He spent the next 3 years in Barrington, Rhode Island, with a select U14 and U16 Girls tournament team, winning in various in-state, and out of state tournaments, reaching state finals for 2 years running. He also worked with the New England Revolution Academy, Rhode Island U16G ODP, and the Tidal Waves, a premier club in Massachusetts, as well as directing soccer camps in the summer for the last 4 years.

Lee is currently working with us at AHFSH as a trainer for the Fire U11 Girls, U13 Boys and the Burn U10 Boys.

Playing Experience:

Lee played at the Swansea City youth academy, a professional club, for 7 years from the age of 10. He played semi-professional soccer in the Welsh Premier League for 4 years with Llanelli AFC. During that time, he was selected to play for Welsh Colleges and played against South Africa and Australia. Lee also played at the semi-professional level in England for Worcester City (Conference North) and Thurrock FC (Conference South) to name a few. He played for 3 years at the University of Worcester for the 1st XI where he captained the team for 2 years to 2 regional championships and ranked 9th in the UK . He was selected to represent Midlands Region Universities for 2 years running and captained them in his final year, when he was selected for the English Universities squad.

Since coming to the States, Lee has played for the Rhode Island Stingrays USL (PDL League) and East Providence FC (LASA).


Joe Walsh

Qualifications:

BA Honors; UEFA “A” License, UEFA “B” License, UEFA “C” License, Football Leaders Award, UEFA Goal Keepers, National Diploma Coaching Sciences, FA Child Protection, FA First Aid and Injury Prevention in soccer.

Coaching Experience:

Joe started his coaching career at the age of 16 as a Football association of Wales (FAW) camps coach and was quickly employed as a regional soccer development officer. This opportunite gave him roles coaching for national development programs such as ‘Girl's First' and ‘Football in the Community'. Gaining a strong reputation, Joe was then made a part of the FAW technical department as a coach for the boys' national development program where he started gaining his advanced coaching licenses. After a year he was made director of the boys' regional development center and became a FAW Center of Excellence coach working under Chris Miles (UEFA Pro license and national girl's coach). Joe also was contracted by teams such as Swansea City F.C. (League 1), Port Talbot F.C. (Welsh Premier League), and Swansea University F.C.

Joe has recently been contracted by Challenger Sport's British Soccer, the largest soccer provider in the USA as a Club Trainer. He has worked camps around Texas for 3 seasons where he has worked with many top youth teams in Dallas, Houston, Waco, and San Antonio . Joe is currently working with AHFSH Fire select program and Burn Academy program.

Playing Experience:

Joe played at the Swansea City junior professional academy for 5 years, from the age of 11 to 16, and also FAW Center of Excellence. Through the academy Joe signed a YT6 contract (youth training 6 year) which gives 3 years youth professional and a 3-year professional contract. Joe suffered a serious sporting injury during YT6 pre season and was sent to college and started his coaching career. Joe then made first choice for the College Center of Sporting Excellence soccer team, which played in the British league of excellence where he had one strong season before signing for Haverford West in the Welsh Premier league. Joe then signed for Pontardawe Town in order to be closer to college to finish his degree. When graduated, Joe moved to Texas to further his coaching experience and now plays competitively in the San Antonio men's league.
